This is the 4th year for the successful event where we celebrate Essa Minor Hockey.
It is an all day event running from 7am - 7pm. Last year the Skills Competition was a huge success and we will be repeating it again. All players get to compete with the winners coming back in the evening to show off there stuff to everyone.
There is a scheduled time for each team. Two teams will be on the ice at a time but NOT competing with each other. Depending on the age group we have hardest shot, fastest skater, breakaway challenge, longest slide or closest to the pin. Each event will give points to 1st - 5th place. The top two players with the most points will advance (the fastest skater event is the tie breaker). Every player will receive a participation memento.

Our afternoon events start with a family skate followed by a competitive game between our coaching staff, our graduating midgets and some special guests. It will be the kids turn to watch. If you are interested in participating please send an email to [email protected]
Our afternoon finale begins with the Timbits Celebration. It will be an opportunity for everyone to remember where it all starts and watch the Essa players of the future show us what they've got. The BIG event of the evening is the "Skills Finals" competition where we will get to watch the top two from each team that were selected during the day culminating in a Red vs White team relay.

Tickets for the Hockey Day in Essa are $10 and they are an all-day pass. All-day pass includes the team skills competition, family skate, all the afternoon events including the coaches game, timbit celebration and the skills finale.

A FREE photo booth will be running at the arena starting at 2:30pm when the family skate begins. Grab your friends and come have a photo... get dressed in the silly garb or just be yourselves. You walk away with a photo strip of your 3 poses.
Hockey Day in Essa is a fundraiser. Last year it was one of the main reasons we were able to keep registration rates at our 2014 price. Tickets are on sale now from your manager, everyone including bench staff will need a ticket to get in to this special event. Kids, as always, are free. If you didn't get a chance to get a ticket you can also pay at the gate on the day.
