Red Zone Update
Hi EMHA families,

As you all know Simcoe County is moving into the Red Zone at midnight tonight. The executive has gathered all information needed and has voted to continue to provide hockey until our scheduled shut down for the Christmas holiday.

What will hockey look like for the next week and a half?

  • Practices will continue with a maximum of 10 players, 1 coach and 1 trainer on the ice

  • One parent will still be allowed in to supervise their child

  • COVID 19 screening check in will continue

  • Atom and above will receive 2 ice times for each group of 10, Novice and below will receive 1 ice time for each group of 10 (this will use the remaining ice times that we have already scheduled)

Knowing that we are in the Red zone until at least January 10th the Executive has voted unanimously to delay the due date for the second instalment. We will post a new due date on December 28th as we will hopefully see the number of cases beginning to drop which would allow us to return to the Orange zone and hockey as we have known it for the past 28 days.

Please keep an eye on your email to know which ice time you are to attend for the next week and a half.

Thank you to all of our Essa Eagle families that have been along for the ride this season.  We are very proud of the programs we’ve been able to deliver this fall, while minimizing the opportunities for Covid-19 to spread through these activities.  In a season that we originally thought would only be a couple weeks long we have managed to keep our players on the ice for a total of 250 hours of practice and game play, since our start in September.  This has only been made possible, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our EMHA Executive in partnership with an incredible number of volunteers including coaches, trainers and our dedicated Eagles families. It’s been amazing to see our community come together, allowing our members to play the game they love for the past 3 months – a huge thank you goes out to everyone who has been involved.
