Season Update
As we are quickly approaching summer and our Eagle families are dreaming about days in the sunshine, the EMHA Executive is ramping up our planning for the 2021/2022 hockey season. We hope that this finds you and your family safe and healthy. We wanted to provide an update and share the information that we have at this time.

We are currently planning for what we hope to be a return to normal hockey. However, with so much uncertainty we will also have a contingency plan in place. We are hopeful we will be able to return to a new-normal of hockey. We anticipate we will likely see some familiar new norms, like hand washing stations, mask wearing and health screening, however we are working hard to return to dressing rooms, 5on5 games and moving towards tournaments!

With the 2021-2022 season being delayed there is no registration open at this time. We are excited to announce that when registration does open a new platform will be in place.

EMHA uses Hockey Canada for our registration. Hockey Canada recently updated their system and they are in the process of rolling out their new Hockey Canada 3.0 platform. As a result of this upgrade, all HCR 3.0 users will be required to create a new login at the time of registration. Our members can prepare to set up their new login by planning which email address they would like to use. Please use an email address that is easy to remember and one that you can keep over the course of your child’s time participating in minor hockey.

EMHA is targeting opening registration in late July. It is our hope that at that time we will have a better idea of what the season will look like and what programming we will be able to offer. Until then we will continue to provide updates to keep our members informed of any new developments.

What do we know right now? OMHA has stated there will be NO on-ice training/activities before September 7/2021. After which AAA try-outs will begin, then AA and so-on. We anticipate we will be able to offer tryouts the end of September! OMHA has also shared  that all tournaments can commence as of October 8/2021, as long as health regulations allow, which could mean back to travelling outside our zones! In order to remain hopeful for a full season we all must do our part – follow the local regulations and continue to keep each other healthy and safe! We will get back to playing the game we love!

As the stay-at-home order comes to an end, we will continue to plan for the upcoming season and part of that preparation will be looking for sponsors.  If you are able to sponsor a team or you know someone who may be interested, please reach out to [email protected].

Please stay tuned for updates on our web page and Social Media sites

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall but for now, have a great summer, stay safe and healthy!
